Dear American Mobilism members,
It was reported yesterday that Speaker McCarthy is weighing playing politics with aid to Ukraine by separating the Ukraine supplemental appropriation from other funding, and instead conditioning it on concessions from Democrats on things like immigration policy. We may all have different views on the Southern border and other domestic policies, but there is a real risk of this bringing all support for Ukraine to an end. This will lead to thousands of deaths, both military and civilian.
Current funding expires on September 30, and unless a comprise can be reached, Ukraine will be left only with the support of Europe and other partners. Drawing on American stocks to provide military aid to Ukraine will be a thing of the past.
We've avoided making appeals on this level since the beginning of the war, but feel that this time it is urgently needed. I ask that you reach out to your representatives, especially if you live in a Republican district.

Congress faces a critical vote in the coming weeks on supplemental aid for Ukraine to ensure that Russia’s barbaric invasion is defeated. Americans broadly agree that victory for Ukraine is a vital national interest, and helping Ukraine stop Russian aggression dead in its tracks only makes America and its allies safer.
That’s why I’m writing to you today asking that you vote yes on supplemental funding for Ukraine.
Aid for Ukraine has some of the strictest oversight and accountability mechanisms in the history of US aid, helping to make sure that this aid isn’t wasted. Moreover, of the $67 billion spent on military aid to Ukraine, 100% is for weapons produced in the United States — this represents a serious investment in domestic manufacturing and American jobs.
This supplemental funding gives Ukraine the tools it needs to liberate the Ukrainian people suffering under occupation, and it is designed to also address other key issues in the US such as disaster funding. This legislation is critical and must pass.
