Theron - Theron travels by ship to his long ago home of Athens, Greece. He soon discovers the Council of Thirteen has put a price on his head so large every Bachiyr in the city will try to collect it, which leads to a very tense reunion with an old lover.

79 A.D.: Taras and Theron have come to a distant but steady peace. One roams the Spanish countryside, while the other practices his dark arts in a cave on Mt. Vesuvius. Over the last two decades, neither has thought much about the other. But Baella, the ancient renegade, wishes to change that. Through her treachery, they will be reunited, but not even Baella can stop the coming cataclysm.
