Regency Romances---This will be fun. :) I'm not going to recommend many specific books, but give these authors a whirl:

Mary Balogh
Mary Jo Putney
Amanda McCabe
Amanda Quick
Allison Lane
Georgette Heyer (especially These Old Shades and Devil's Cub)
Clare Darcy
Loretta Chase (especially Lord of Scoundrels)
Sarah MacLean (esp. The Rules of Scoundrels series)
Eloisa James (can be tearjerky)
Lisa Kleypas
Julia Quinn
Grace Burrowes
Anne Gracie (esp. the Perfect series)
Suzanne Enoch (try the Scandalous Brides series)
Sophie Barnes
Tessa Dare
Lynsay Sands (Scottish Highlanders and Devil of the Highlanders series)
Julie Garwood (The Secret and Lyon's Lady are my faves)
Stephanie Laurens (Bastion Club series)

And if you like your romances on the clean/sweet side, try the classic Signet regencies. Many of them are now available as ebooks, and this site has a good selection: http://www.regencyreads.com/online/. They aren't free, but it will give you authors to look for here.

I'm a librarian who loves Regency era novels. PM me if you want more information or more specific titles. I'm always happy to talk about books. :)

All right, here are some of the more recent series/titles:

Mary Balogh--Westcott Family series, starts with Someone to Love
Mary Jo Putney--Rogues Redeemed series, starts with Once a Rogue; Lost Lords series, starts with Loving a Lost Lord
Amanda Quick--Til Death do us Part, The Girl Who Knew too Much, The Other Lady Vanishes
Loretta Chase--Dukes Prefer Blondes, A Duke in Shining Armor
Sarah MacLean--Scandal and Scoundrel series, starts with The Rogue Not Taken
Eloisa James--Wildes of Linlow Castle, starts with Wilde in Love
Lisa Kleypas--Ravenels series, starts with Cold Hearted Rake
Julia Quinn--the Rokesbys, starts with Because of Miss Bridgerton
Grace Burrowes--the True Gentlemen series, starts with Tremaine's True Love; Windham Brides, starts with The Trouble With Dukes
Anne Gracie--The Chance Sisters, starts with The Autumn Bride
Suzanne Enoch--No Ordinary Hero series, starts with Hero in the Highlands
Tessa Dare--Castles Ever After series, starts with Romancing the Duke
Lynsay Sands--Scottish Highlanders series, starts with An English Bride in Scotland

I took some authors off because either they don't write historicals any more or I haven't read any of their recent stuff. Let me know if you're willing to read some older titles, and I can send you a few suggestions.
