I was wondering if there are any detective books where the detective solves various cases as opposed to just one like in the serlock holmes books. If it is for teenagers even better.

And also if there are any detective books for adults that are fun to read(Fun as in a nice mystery) for me. Thanks for your time

i'm not sure about for kids but mystery authors i love are Ed Mcbain, Patrica Cornwell, Kathy Reichs i'm not sure about the spelling, Jeffery Deaver is really good too.
Stephen King has written a few mysteries as well. but for Detectives since Cornwell and the Bones series aren't cops but still great writers, Jeffery Deaver writes the Lincoln Rhyme books those are brilliant. Ed McBain's 87th Precinct books there are 55 of them and i haven't read them all yet but the ones i have read very little of them are bad. with that Series it rotates on who is the lead detective most of the time, sometime you get the same lead in 2 or 3 in a row sometimes it's from a different cop. i dunno if that helps?

aMay I recommend Dresden files? It is an urban fantasy about a detective magician :) Later in the series it is more fantasy than a detective mystery, but I love Sherlock and I especially enjoyed the Dresden files (and I found out that I enjoy urban fantasy too :D)

As detective books I can recommend Inspector Rebus Series by Ian Rankin, Peter Wimsey Series by Dorothy L. Sayers and maybe Philip Marlowe Series by Raymond Chandler. Check them out, I hope you'll find something suitable.

In my personal "to read" list is The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency but I can't recommend it for now :) May be I'll read it in the next 2-3 years :D

Not a detective book per se, but John Grisham's books actually make you think who's the culprit or what's the truth. Like The Client, to be specific! Love his books
