You forgot a new app I've been using lately; B1 Free Archiver

Code: Select allhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.b1.android.archiver

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.b1.android.archiver

I suggest trying it when other apps fail to extract files from certain archives. (Sometimes Solid & Root Explorer will give me an error, and aside from uploading the archive to my computer via FTP, extracting with 7-Zip, the redownloading the contents; this is a time saver for me)

Note: I can't say it'll work 100% of the time, but I've had some success with it; so I wanted to throw it's hat in the ring :p - kal

* Where can I get the password?
If you were asked to enter password that does NOT mean you need password for B1 Archiver.
It means that your archive is password-protected, which means that people how created that archive encrypted it with a secret password. Please check this article for most common ways to find password - http://b1.org/help/Where-can-I-get-the-password-to-the-archive.jsp

If you 100% sure that your archive is regular and not protected, but you are still asked for the pass - please send it to support@b1.org for investigation, it might be an issue with the software.

Total Commander is very very basic though and most other decent file managers, like Root Explorer, beat it easily.
