I looked all over XDA and Google like crazy and can't seem to find a legit looking article I see that there are people who have successfully rooted I appreciate any help thank you in advance

A lot of it depends on what phone you want to root. First time is the hardest then it`s a piece of cake. Some phones are not rootable.

Did you not see the title of my thread lol.. my phone is an LG v40 through sprint.. With That Said can you tell me something useful about my question.. also this isn't my first time rooting a phone.. just this new phone I got

You need the exact phone model the name is not enough. And then you need to do the research, as rooting requirements change with every update. If it`s not on xda or you can`t speak Russian you have no chance of root.

I want to see if I am able to, and I also want to be able to turn this hand me down tablet into something better than it is currently, I want to be able to see if I can use it for light gaming, video watching and as a general carry around tablet. I want to see if I can overclock it a bit and improve its performance and also get rid of all the bloatware. Plus I plan to give it to my daughter when she is old enough.

Ok it`s a lgv40 but what Android version have you and please the exact name of the phone! for example Samsung s9 sm-g960f etc.
Regards, most of the phones can be rooted with magiks and twrp recovery.
