SPORTS CENTER CONTEST #232 UNDERDOGS For our Friday Night Underdogs edition, we had three matchups with HUGE UNDERDOGS!
All we had to do to win was either say YES if we thought ALL the underdogs (in bold and red) would lose or say NO if we thought one of them could pull off a win.

GAME ONEBaltimore Orioles at New York Yankees
Yankees took on the worst team in the American League tonight and improved their lead for the top Wild Card spot by beating the lowly Orioles, 10-8, at Yankee Stadium. Baltimore scored four runs in the eighth to make it scary for the hosts but the Yankees prevailed in the end.
GAME TWOPenn State at Fighting Illini
No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions visited the improved Illinois Fighting Illini tonight and after the Lions dominated their last two opponents, they were looking to keep their momentum going in this conference-opener. Meanwhile Illinois were hoping to pull off a massive upset…but it didn’t happen. They caused some excitement by leading 24-21 in the third quarter but got SLAUGHTERED in the fourth and lost by nearly 40 points!
GAME THREESan Diego Padres at Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers looked to open up their final regular season home series of the year when they welcomed the Padres to Dodger Stadium on Friday night. Welcome was the key word since the Dodgers had won 12 of the 16 games between these two clubs this season. Padres led 3-2 in the eighth and it looked like the Dodgers were beginning to mount a comeback but San Diego scored two more in the ninth and that pretty much sealed their win.
