Hey guys. I have an iPod Touch 2G that I want to fix. Its charging pins are messed up. Should I call Apple Customer Support or do I need to contact someone else like a company that does these repairs? Please help me out with this and feel free to PM me if you need any other info. Thanks. :D

Markusha98,that is the dock connector. You will have to replace it in order to get your iPod back to normal function. It is an interesting job to say the least. You have to remove the logic board and then desolder the connector. The dock connectors are available at multiple places like this. Then you have to resolder the new one. Here is a video that shows you how to do it.

I would also recommend buying a fine tip for your soldering iron (not too fine) and definitely invest in some solder flux as well as thin solder wire. Great weekend project :D Good Luck
