The redhead manages to completely win Ardan’s trust, but, just when the two of them get closer than ever, Alasdair’s world comes crashing down after seeing the man of his dreams about to get intimate with another youth. Heartbroken, he’ll run away, before Ardan realizes and has a chance to explain his actions. Is it too late for the two to have a fresh start?
#2 - Two weeks has passed since Alasdair left The Base in the middle of the night, without looking back. Although he keeps telling himself he is content with the life he started to build in the middle of his family, who surrounds him with love, the red-haired boy feels something is missing from it.
After a short, but intense internal debate, and pushed by his uncle Rayne and Seymour, one of the closest friends at The Base, Alasdair decides to go back to the place he considered his home for what he thinks will be a last conversation with Ardan. However, the young man’s revelations turn his world upside down, and he promises to himself to always love the man and support him in his fight against the monsters who prey on the innocent.
Ardan is formally welcomed in the family by Alasdair’s grandfather himself. Impressed by his grandson’s stories about the man’s crusade against the child traffickers, the patriarch offers him access to the huge resources and connections of the Stark and Bloom clans, and the full support of their allies.
Ardan and Alasdair’s life is finally how they hoped and dreamed it would be, but the evil nested in the very heart of Alasdair’s extended family rears its ugly head, threatening to destroy everything the past generations fought so hard to achieve. Would the budding love between Ardan and Alasdair survive the trial, or would it wither like a flower in the blizzard?
