Hi, I'm a huge fan of autobiographies and recently I've really enjoyed reading about the extravagant lifestyle of some rockstar legends. What's your favorite?

Motley Crues the Dirt and Led Zepplins Hammer of the Gods (although that isn't autobiog) are both fascinating studies of excess
Phil Collins book is actually much better than I thought it would be
Anything Mick Wall writes is worth reading, he's done a few interview/memoir type things and a couple of biographies

It's not exactly a biography of a rock star, but it's in a similar vein -- the book by Debbie Spungen's mother, And I Don't Want To Live This Life. Amazing read. I'd also include in not-autobiography, but close enough, Touching From a Distance by Deborah Curtis, the wife of Ian Curtis.

The Heroin Diaries, as mentioned earlier, is awesome, and I also liked Keith Richard's memoir, and everything by Willie Nelson! :) Oh, and Kurt's journals, of course.

There's also that book by a guy who accidentally ended up being G.G. Allin's roadie which makes you want to poke out your eyes and claw off your skin, but is a fascinating in a road accident way, if you have the stomach for it.

I will do my best to re-up links ASAP, but it might take a moment (health issues). I'm really sorry for this!
