Sorry for the noobish question but this has been bugging me for ages. I hv come across several comics tagged 2048/1920/1440px. My question is are these high resolution SCANS of PHYSICAL copies or r these high res versions of the original digital ones. Did a lot of searching but to no avail):

Well it should depends on the Scene group which does the scans. Most of the comic releases which I find for the newer ones say "Digital". If they don't and they say something like c2c:Cover to Cover; or noAds: Similar to c2c with the Ads Removed; both of which are for Scanned books. Most of the Scene releases say these tags.

For example this torrent here, has the title: Sex Criminals 05 (2014) (c2c 1440+2048px-HD) (TaruTariat-Novus)

Here the c2c means Cover to Cover i.e. a Scanned copy fo the physical book, then the Resolution, after which the Releasing Group's name.
If it said Digital then it would be a Digital Edition.

I think I found out about this while reading this article here.
