SPORTS CENTER CONTEST #245FOOTBALL DAILY DOUBLE For this Football Daily Double edition we looked at two different sports and all we had to do was guess correctly in BOTH events to win. The favorites are in bold and red.
GAME ONE - SOCCERBournemouth vs. Crystal Palace/DRAWBournemouth had been in front after just five minutes when David Brooks curled in off the crossbar for his first Premier League goal. But after half-time Palace improved, and the visitors equalised in the 55th minute when Dutch full-back Patrick van Aanholt beat Asmir Begovic at the near post with a powerful strike into the top corner. With the scores level, Bournemouth were gifted the spot-kick when Palace defender Mamadou Sakho swung a forearm into the face of Jefferson Lerma at a free-kick. Junior Stanislas stepped up to score the 87th-minute penalty which gave Bournemouth a fourth Premier League win from seven games this season.
GAME TWO - FOOTBALLKansas City Chiefs vs. Denver BroncosKansas City Chiefs took on their division rivals Denver Broncos in Denver on "Monday Night Football." The Chiefs and Broncos seemingly always play wild games when they get together for primetime contests, and this was no different. The Denver Broncos had every chance to win the game at home against the Kansas City Chiefs, but failed. The offense continues to frustrate and the defense continues to be on the field too long in games as the Broncos lose in a tough 27-23 home defeat to the Chiefs. Kansas escapes to move to 4-0 and stakes out a huge division lead while the Broncos slide to 2-2.
