Snowball Fight Round 3 Recap and Winner!


Read on for the shocking conclusion of our
2024 Nenana Ice Classic
Last Person Standing Snowball Specatular!

The third and decisive round opened when Mumzies, with clear and unmistakable intent,
delivered a whallopingly fast snowball right into Ozswede, who seemed shocked at this icy betrayal. 

In a surprisingly quick moment for one hit midriff, Ozswede returned fire, and Mumzies felt the smack of hard pressed snow for the first time (and did that seem to hit particularly hard?). Undeterred, Mumzies shot back another quick and cold ball at Ozswede, shouting "You're going down!" which missed Ozswede but almost hit DuskyDuvessa -
who appeared to be a bit peeved at having her Bourbon fueled mellow harshed.

Mumzies, one ball left in hand, struck out with a ball that looked like it was intended for the perambulating DuskyDuvessa but instead smacked into Ozswede,
who had still been standing defiantly in midfield but was now down, and out!

DuskyDuvessa, her attention again briefly focused, interrupted her stagger toward Fort Defiance to toss a single snowball at Mumzies, who, still buzzing from her previous whallop in the round, went down, and out!

DuskyDuvessa, now the sole person standing from our snowball slugfest,
slowly crept into Fort Defiance and fell asleep. (Yes, let's say asleep. Yep)

Congratulations to DuskyDuvessa Our sole person standing (near enough) in this years' Mobi Snowball Spectacular!

DuskyDuvessa wins 100 WRZ! and an open tab at Moocher's Bar for the night
Our nonfinishers still get 50 WRZ and another cup of hot cocoa with a little something something.

I applaud all of our brave combatants and doff my snow covered hat to DuskyDuvessa!

Ice Conditions/Tripod Update



As of 4/25, the Tripod is still standing on the Tanana river. There are 2 open channels of flowing water in front of the Tripod. One is close to the dock and one began upriver from the Tripod in the center of the river. The Nenana is entirely open and is eating away at the Tanana river, downriver from the Tripod.
Lots of ice rot throughout and small areas of water flowing.

We've quite a number of wagers coming up the next few days - peaceableone, HogwartsExpress, accountant1usa, johngriffen, Fatima99, and irathomas all have a stake in the ice between now and the 29th. Will any of them be right?
Stay tuned for some more slowly melting ice happenings.

had some real life stuff that precluded other activity.
