The goal of tower defense games is to try to stop enemies from crossing a map by building traps to slow them down and towers which shoot at them as they pass. Enemies and towers usually have varied abilities, costs, and upgrade prices. When an enemy is defeated, the player earns money or points, which are used to buy or upgrade towers, or upgrade the number of money or points that are earned, or even upgrade the rate at which they upgrade.

The choice and positioning of the personal towers is the essential strategy of the game. Many games feature enemies that run through a "maze", which allows the player to strategically place towers for optimal effectiveness. However, some versions of the genre force the user to create the maze out of their own towers. Some versions are a hybrid of these two types, with preset paths that can be modified to some extent by tower placement, or towers that can be modified by path placement.

Which brings me (again) to the purpose of this topic: in the next post, you'll find an overview of Tower Defence games for android, released on our beloved site. By clicking any game title, you should always be able to find the most up-to-date release of the game. Just look at the version numbers. Then while you're here, you could eventually post a reply to these simple questions:

    - Is there any Tower Defence game for android missing in the list, that was released on this site?
    - Do you play yourself TD games? Which one(s) you like/dislike and why? On what device do you play?
    - Any TD you played already in multiplayer mode? What is your experience?

We'd like to hear from you...

How should I read reviews?
First of all, the reviews are not mine. Only done effort I claim is to find the most appropriate review on the web, and post it here in the specific release topic. (I always add the source). So you don't have to search for a review yourself, risking to get trapped in that bad world outside our forum, infected with pop-ups and other advertiser's tricks. I don't have the time myself to try all the games and check reviewer's comments towards my own experience. Which means that the fact the review is posted here, doesn't necessary correspond with mine. Worse, some reviews could even be written to promote a game, by the developers themselves, or fake reviewers. Which leaves us to the purpose/need to have reviews: reviews give a deeper insight about the game options and the gameplay, and I add an in-game picture to the review, while there's often only a cover image shown in the release post. I believe in 'love at first sight', and pictures often give a valuable impression about your attraction to a specific game. In-game pictures do that job.
Finally, the reviews are not linked to a specific version of a game. Meaning the options and gameplay described in the reviews might have been changed in more recent updates of the game.
Finally (bis), though reviews might give you an idea about the game, nothing compares to having a try yourself... Download that game, try it out, and find out for yourself if you like it. If it ain't free, think about the developer and buy it legally, thus rewarding him/her for the work.
Finally (really), share your experience in this forum, then your comments might inspire other users...

    Enjoy! - Guy

Night of the Living Dead Defense & GRave has the same author so it's not really new if both games are good. Loading times are bearable on my DHD.

Crystallight Defense - I like the gameplay, this is technically a 10/10 game for me. It's good for moments that needs whiling away time.

Bloons TD 4 - The mechanics of the game is literally redundant, what strategy you use on stage 1 can be utterly and shamelessly used til you're done with unlocking all the stages. This game is a battery juice hog, too much graphics.

Thanks for your comments. Interesting, will have to check them out.

I just added my absolute favorite to the list: Tablet Tower Defense. As I said, I have many still to try, but this one still stands for me.

Then there's many more around to add to the list...

IMHO, Defense Zone HD and Defense Zone HD 2 are the best tower defense games ever. They have a very good design, beautiful battlefields, and the armors look like the real things. The graphic is very clear and easy to control, they have no sparkle things which might make users very confused like other games.
