I have now discovered a "workaround" on another site which worked for me.
"
Settings> Applications> Manage applications> Downloaded (here tried the application [in my SGS2 with the name "UK & Ireland"]

Click the application "UK & Ireland" and "Clear data"
And my TOMTOM is working again!!

Disadvantage: You lose your bookmarks/ Favorites and personal settings (Like: location of the home, etc ... "

I've tried another way: uninstalled then reinstalled.
It worked and I've lost nothing.
