The phone doesn't have to be rooted.
Just copy the map to your internal SD Card.
://mnt/sdcard/tomtom/com.tomtom.benelux/
Then install the APK file.
And it should to work (for most of the phones).

I have been trying the proposed methods again and again.
and although i am not a newbie i cannot get benelux to work, western europe works flawless via same method.

What could be wrong ?

did you putt ".metadata.xml in com.tomtom.benelux

yes, the metadata file is there.
i tried also first installing apk and then at moment of error copy the folder structure as well as first putting the folder there
and then install.
before install or reinstall made sure to delete app cache and data and uninstalled.

and yet, western europe works when i do the same thing. i never had two maps at the same time, so that is also not the reason.
what i do have is both applications at the same time, but that shouldnot matter, should it?
